It's more than yoga; it's a celebration of movement, strength, and joy. 🔥Here are a few tips to help you maximise the effectiveness of your yoga practice when taking a Sohot Method Hot 26 Online Yoga class. 💪 Embrace the power of Dynamic Breath Control in all movements. Whether lifting the body, bending sideways, hinging forward, or kicking a leg out, movement should coincide with an exhale. Exhaling helps release bodily tension and taps into inner muscular strength, also known as stability strength. This is similar to the process of exhaling when kicking a ball or throwing a punch; it naturally releases tension, enabling access to stability strength, which is essential for coordinating and delivering power. Developing these muscles is key to enhancing the body’s performance. During inhalation, avoid moving. Instead, maintain your current position as relaxed as possible. When exhaling without moving, focus on expanding your entire body open, without joint or spinal compression. This approach ensures your body remains loose and relaxed, harnessing inner strength to expand with stability and control. Avoid distracting your mind with thoughts about the extent of your posture or alignment perfection. This detracts from developing core stability strength. As you build this strength, depth and alignment will naturally improve, without forcing your body. It's about opening the door to improved performance, not forcing it. Adopt the mantra "Relaxed and Open." Focus a significant amount of effort on releasing body tension. Without this resistance, your stability strength can work powerfully and effortlessly. Maintain this singular focus, akin to powerful meditations, concentrating on a steady, unshakable point. This focus allows access to your body’s raw power, stress-free. Keep your mindset on stress-free body engagement. Keep your head up and be patient. Understanding body tension takes time, as does learning to engage core strength to eliminate this tension. This is the essence of your yoga practice: enhancing awareness and body engagement. This is how to rejuvenate and transform both mind and body for optimal performance. Bill Thwaites: Sohot Founder 😀
